Absent days/ Inspiration
Here is a piece that i found intruiging and inspiring, Today I was absent so I found some inspiration for next class. This berry bowl is simple and i think it will be a good challenge to create the intriate holes.
This is what the outside of the store looks like and it is called Heath Ceramics. It was really cool to see a whole store didicated to cermics works and have it be so popular! It definately makes me grateful to be in a cermics class in highschool!
A cermic display in the same store as i found the ugly bowls! I love the glazing techniques on these pieces and hope to do something like it in class!
Here is some inspiration i found while walking in San Francisco. I found a store dedicated to cermics and I loved how the pieces were all perfectly thrown and glazed different colors.
Here are some bowls and cups from the store in San Francisco. I love the way they are displayed with contrating colors that still fit the cool theme of the pieces. These pieces reminded me of the set of four project which I am unsure whether I want to do but these pieces are definately inspiring!
I love these little guys! I found these in a different store in San Francisco and fell in love. They remind me so much of the ugly mug projects at the begining of the year and they inspire me to add a modern take on the project with wheel thrown bowls!
Another inspiring set from Heath Cermaics! I love the speckled glaze on these compressed vases and I can't wait to try to incorperate it into the next piece I can!
I found these mugs while browsing pinterest and I love the unique functionality of them! I think ive seen something ike these come out of the kiln before and i think it would be so fun to try my hand at them!
I love the detailed glaze on this piece and I feel like this would be a perfect challenge to grow my glazing skills. I often find myself rushing through the glazong process and I know that it is somehting that I want to grow my patience in. I feel somehting like this would allow me to do that.
PLANNING! I plan on using these pieces to take inspiration for my mask piece, I like the way the nose is prominent and i want to make a promient nose in my mask piece.
